Uni-solar panels claim to operate around 12% efficiency which means that even on cloudy days a uni-solar panel can produce more electricity and outperform their PV solar panel counterparts.
Panels utilizing thin-film technology works out to be cheaper for the consumer because the cost of expensive silicon and mounting racks is avoided. In the past the cost of mounting those powered panels and securing them from the elements could require many hours of manual labor and could also pose a threat to other structures if they become loose or unhinged.
