Water has been used as a prime source of power throughout most of man’s history and extensively since the Roman Empire. Water covers almost 70% of the earth’s surface and is the one of the most abundant natural and clean sources of energy at out disposal–second only to the sun’s energy.
Hydro-electrical power supplies about 20% of the world’s electricity by utilizing lakes and rivers and most of the evidence can be seen in some of our most famous dams throughout the world.
Most of the energy in Hydroelectric power plants is generated at dams or other places where water falls from a height, and using kinetic energy, generates and endless supply of kilowatt energy. Hydro-power is now the leading source of renewable energy as it accounts for more than 92% of all electricity generated from renewable energy throughout the world other than the traditional coal factories.
