Some 500 new solar bins is set to hit Philadelphia city streets in a test to see how they would hold up in the first large scale implementation in an American city.
The bins also called big belly bins can hold 8 times the trash than a conventional bin and only to be emptied 5 times a week, where a the conventional trash can needed to be emptied 19 times a week, which city officials estimate will translate into big savings for the city.
