A good place to look is in your local hardware store or in the phone book or even the internet.
On a closing note, I highly recommend with the do it yourself option as opposed to the professional installation. The main reason is because you can easily build yourself a solar panel for less than $200 but with professional installation you will be paying $50k only for the installation aspect of the project! Regardless of what you decide to do, having your own solar panels generating the energy will save you multiple thousands in the future and you will feel much better knowing that you are doing something great for the environment!
Since 2002, one hundred coal fire plants have been shut down, giving a major boost to the clean energy initiative. The latest cancellation comes from Utah where the construction of a new coal fired power plant was set to begin this summer 2009.
As we are seeing, things are beginning to change in the way the public perceives this issue as the environment begins to be a conscious discussion for many people. Resistance remains high against nuclear power and increasingly high against coal as over 60 coal powered plants have been cancelled since 2006 and with a Congress now that is more proactive in favor of environmental protection, we see this trend continuing to grow.
While there is still much to be done, such as encouraging more solar and wind energy plants instead of coal energy plants which is responsible for tons of CO2 expulsion into the air. Anyone living near a coal fired plant can tell you the effects of pollutant in their own air in short amount of time.
We believe Americans should encourage our politicians to embrace more cleaner energy plants which will only drive innovation to make those plants as equally proficient as coal fired plants but without the toxic bi-product. In fact the technology is available right now to use solar power technology to make that a reality, all we need is the commitment and will power to make it so.
Research shows that the solar energy output could realistically reach 10 % of total U.S electricity generation by 2025. By using a combination of solar photovoltaics (PV) and concentrating solar power (CSP), we see solar power contributing significantly to America’s energy supply more and more in the future.

Some 500 new solar bins is set to hit Philadelphia city streets in a test to see how they would hold up in the first large scale implementation in an American city.
The bins also called big belly bins can hold 8 times the trash than a conventional bin and only to be emptied 5 times a week, where a the conventional trash can needed to be emptied 19 times a week, which city officials estimate will translate into big savings for the city.

Most people when they think of solar power envision it as a rigid bulky structure on their roof or in their backyard. This could not be further from the truth as advances in technology have made thin film solar cells possible.
